What do you think of this counter, Perisai Petroleum Teknologi Bhd? The company had consistently made profits since listing on 5th July 2004. For the financial year 2008, the company made NPAT of RM15.262 million. For the first quarter of 2009, it made a NPAT of RM16.030 million, more than the full year result of 2008.

The company had secured 2 contracts, a 4.5 year of bareboat charter and a 2 year lease contract of portable saturation diving system. The two contracts were secured on 1.11.2008 and 14.4.2008 respectively. It was mentioned that these two contracts contribute to the 692.78% increased in the recent quarter profits.

The company has proprietory technology that is cost effective for developing small and marginal oil fields in deep waters and remote enviroment. The technology, MOPSU ( mobile offshore production & storage unit ) is unlike other system, uses modular drilling units, integrated storage and a detachable drilling template with the entire system fully recoverable and reusable. It is this technology that put Perisai in the forefront to secure more contracts in the oil and gas industry.

The company’s cash position is not that favourable, however the management is making effort to raise funds like the ongoing private placement, issuance of 2 year redeemable convertable bonds and disposal of assets. Cashflow may not be a big issue with the numerous fund raising exercise that can be done easily since it was transferred to the main board.

The counter is trading at 58 cts and I think it is undervalued. Fair value is RM1.00. ( PE of 10 and EPS of 10 cents: taking into consideration the increased in shares with the recent bonus issue, making the total number of shares of 662,400,000 ).

Thank you.

Dear Terrance,

I have given up on the fundamental although I have a master degree in investment mgmt (not to be boastful). Although on the long run, the market is governed by fundamentals, economies, etc.

Over time, I want to make $$$ and not interested what the companies does. The market is often "rigged"
against investors like us. The odds of making alpha returns is small although many ppl claim they make $$$.

Perhaps, a better method of analysis is to see how the smart money manipulating the market and companies shares prices to their benefits.

You can submit the Perisai to the Submit-A-Chart-4-Analysis and I wud promise to look into it.
